Secure Lock box and installation    $75

In order to gain access, we use a secure lock box permanently mounted outside the residence. It will contain a single key allowing access to the main residence.

 

The lockbox we use is pictured below. It is all metal and is available in clay or white. It measures 2 5/16 wide X 4" high and 1 3/4" deep. The box attaches securely to any wall or flat surface with four screws.

 

Note:

At this time, we do not offer a pet sitting service, unless the pets have no legs and swim (ie.. goldfish)

Some Questions and Answers:

1. How do I know you actually visited and inspected my house ?

Each time we inspect your house, an e-mail will be sent to you showing the date of the inspection results and any other pertinent information related to that inspection. 

2. How is the lockbox combination safeguarded ?

Combinations to each lockbox are encrypted and stored in our secure database.

Associates receive a list of houses to be checked for a particular day. This list includes the daily de-encryption code followed by a list of address, and encrypted lockbox codes. The true lock box code must then be calculated using the de-encryption code and the code for that address.

Below is a simple example of one possible encryption scheme which, by the way, we have never used:   

 

Let's say the lock box for your house at 1234 Main St. has a code of 841 and you house is the first on the list to be inspected that day.   A portion of the daily check list for an associate might look like this:

 

Code 456789-2

1) 1234 Main St. Holden Beach - 262

2) 742 Beach Rd NW -342

                 - Change Air Filters

3) ...

 

The -2 in the decryption code might tell our associate to add every 2nd digit from the de-encryption code to the number provided for each address. That means they would add 579 (from the daily code for that date) + 262 (the code given for 1234 Main St) to get the lock box combination of 841.

Also, associates are not permitted to write down the actual lock box code. If they can't calculate it in their head, then they must turn a calculator on, decrypt it on that calculator, open the lockbox and turn the calculator off.

 

At the end of the day associates turn in each daily list to have their activities recorded. That list is then shredded.
